{Be Devoted} It’s Your Turn!

Spiritual Growth

by Megan

The winter months can be very lonesome in some cases. I know for me, living on the east coast of the States, many stay cooped up in their homes until the spring months roll around. I have been thinking to myself lately, “What can we do to make things a bit more…well, lively?” I thought about it some more, and decided to make a little list of possible mini-events that you could host in your own home…or even town! Community is such an important aspect to my life, and when we include people who are around us in our lives, it makes for a very special occasion. So, here are a few creative and fun ideas for you! If you have any more ideas, please share in your comments!

1. Host a house concert (it doesn’t have to be big…just invite a few of your musically-talented friends over, and a small audience!)

2. Host a cook-off! (Have everyone bring their favorite dishes and enjoy laughter and stories together around the table!)

3. Host a Tea Party! (I have done this in the past, and it is quite fun. You really can go all out on this, or you can keep it really simple!)

Not only can you host an event, but I would encourage you to take a day off to get together with a friend or friends and just go out for coffee. You could even make this a weekly or monthly activity.

Now, for the really fun part of this entire blog post!!

If you end up doing one of the 3 “host” suggestions listed above…I would love for you to contact me at: becker.megan79@yahoo.com

You will get the chance to be featured in the {Be Devoted} section of Delight! I would ask that you share your story about how it all happened, and your best memories from your hosted event. If you are able to document the gathering with pictures, I would love to put both your story and your photos on this blog! You have the entire month to plan and get back to me! So, have fun with this!! It’s all about creativity!!!

We did a game night on Saturday night. Had people bring games and a snack to share. Super fun, learned new games and we had a people fro across the age ranges – 11 – 60-something.
