Country Charm Senior photography Inspiration

Nov 18, 2015

Be ready to to say holy cow when you see these pictures! HA! I crack myself up! This session had me missing the days I lived I kentucky! Don’t let the fact that these were taken in Washington state fool you! They have southern charm written all over, I guess we will have to call them country chic! I can’t help it! They have just a hint of irrestiable southern charm! The sweet golden light and a country girl that Ariella captured at this session has me feeling like I need to sip on some sweet tea! Im so excited to share a bit about the artist and show her work to you!

Introduce yourself!
Name/business name:
Ariella Noelle Photography

Something short and sweet about you:
I am a portrait photographer in Western Washington. This is my second year of being an “official” business and I absolutely love photographing seniors! I haven’t gotten to go to a Delight Intensive yet, but want to go soon, especially with my first wedding coming this summer! Just knowing there is such a huge community of Christian girls in a similar place in life as me is a huge encouragement.

About this session:
This is my good friend Maggie! I was thrilled when she asked me to shoot her senior portraits! These images were shot on her family farm and grandparents 50 acre property.

Did this session challenge you?:
We started the first part of her session pretty early (4:00) on a summer afternoon, so the light was harsh. But I used my reflector and the surrounding trees helped filter the light! Since Maggie is a good friend of mine, posing and interacting was all fun!

What gear was used?:
I always use my 85mm 1.8 on My Canon 6D, a stool, lens hood and a reflector.

Why photography?:
I’ve always been artistic and loved to draw detailed drawings and paintings of people and animals! But, I’m super detailed and get impatient with working on one project for a month. I found Photography in High school and realized it was a way to capture my favorite subjects MUCH quicker! I read almost every photography book at the library…and now I have a business!

How does your relationship with Jesus effect your work?:
Jesus effects my work in every way. From the way I interact with my customers, to the way I capture them. I highly suggest praying before every shoot and surrendering it to the Lord. I ask Him to be with me, to help me capture my subjects beautifully, and to help me honor Him. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight” Proverbs 3:6. I also have to constantly remind myself that I am doing this art that I love for a time, but if He calls me elsewhere tomorrow, I’m ready to surrender it!

Holy cow! Yes, I said it. Arriella did such a great job with the light she was in. The photos turned out gorgeous.
