In Relentless Pursuit of My Passion

Business Tips

I’ve always heard that word and felt super inspired. Like wow. Yes, passion, let’s do this thing! But do you ever feel like your “passion” isn’t going anywhere, or isn’t ever enough?

I’ve been pursuing a professional career in the performing arts since I was nine, and even before I knew exactly how to categorize it, I could feel a calling deep inside me: a passion.

At the time, I had no idea of all that went into making your way in the performing arts world, or just how hard it would really be. More specifically, that the moment you think you’ve got it, you most certainly don’t, and that there are seriously millions of people who will always be better than you. Pretty uninspiring, right? But, as I kept learning, falling, and picking myself back up again, I decided that I wasn’t going to be discouraged by these truths or compare my abilities to someone else’s.

Instead, I was going to focus on being the best version of myself and keeping the reason I started at the forefront of my mind.

I train, perform, and audition because it’s what makes me feel alive. If you have that fire inside of you, then nothing should be able to put it out.

If you are pursuing a passion that you have, but you feel empty, ask yourself why.
Are you letting the likes and comments define how good you are? Letting the attention you get make you feel like you’ve either got it or you don’t? Are you w
asting time wishing for the right circumstances before you start taking risks and pursuing those dreams? Or are you going after it, pushing past the barriers and taking on the challenges with confidence.

I know it gets hard, I know there are days when you’re going to feel like quitting, but this is all part of it.

It is in the moments we feel like stopping that we should continue, in the strength of our God, who has put that passion in our hearts for a much bigger reason than we could ever imagine.

So please, never give up, and always remember why you started.
